Exploring Civic Engagement: Youth Survey Voting Behavior in Democracy Workshop

On 07.11.2024, we conducted another activity from the Youth Leaders Hub as part of the project "Do You Know Your Democracy?" š.
š³ļø This time, the workshop focused on surveying voting behavior and reflecting on civic engagement. Participants explored the reasons behind voting and non-voting in their communities while developing practical skills in conducting surveys, analyzing data, and understanding civic attitudes.
š„ During the workshop, participants started by discussing their voting intentions and sharing reasons for their choices. They then went out into the community in pairs to conduct surveys, asking people about their voting habits and attitudes. After gathering the data, everyone worked together to analyze the results, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen civic participation.
š¤ Through this experience, they enhanced their critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills while gaining a deeper understanding of democratic participation. Discussions and made a shift in perspectives on the importance of voting.
š” The session developed reflection on how to overcome barriers to voting and encouraged participants to think critically about their role in shaping a democratic society.
